About the event

On the eve of the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, we welcome Katya Kadurina from Studio MoreInfo to share a uniquely Ukrainian perspective on wayfinding design.

MoreInfo specialises in urban wayfinding design & architectural signage. The studio was established more than six years ago, successfully completing commissions ever since, with their products installed in many cities across Ukraine. Since the onset of the war in 2022, the MoreInfo team have switched to working remotely, continuing design, research, and 3D model development of wayfinding products for projects outside of Ukraine.

Katya gives an overview of wayfinding design in Ukraine. She shares current constraints, as well as the tools for teamwork and collaborative practices that have enabled the MoreInfo team to adapt and keep designing, despite the significant day-to-day challenges they face working in a war zone. Key to this is Figma, a cloud-based design tool (similar to Sketch and Adobe in functionality and features), but with key differences that make it better for team collaboration. Katya shines a spotlight on these Figma features, also demonstrating how and why the program works so well for creating maps.
